 | | LA ESCEPCION Tapa Negra No. 42 | Country: Hon | Manufacturer: JR Cigars | Size: 6 1/2 x 42 | Filler: DR/Nic/Hon | Binder: Conn | Wrapper: Conn/Ecu | | Panelist #1 | A good mid-afternoon smoke. It won’t bowl you over but won’t leave you seduced and abandoned either. RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | The cigar’s gimmicky appearance raised expectations for an interesting smoke; it fell a bit short. MILDLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | It was ideal with a cappuccino, but was murdered by a glass of Knob Creek. Keep this one for morning. RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | Can I pick some up next week? This unique-looking cigar is the right size for a leisurely night on the porch. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |
 | | BOHEMIAN RED Ginsburg | Country: DR | Manufacturer: Victor Sinclair | Size: 6 x 50 | Filler: DR/Nic/Brz | Binder: DR | Wrapper: Braz | | Panelist #1 | A great smoke, especially after robust seafood fare. Contemplate your navel with this and some rum. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | The beauty of trying new cigars is that every now and then you find a new one for your rotation. RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | This cigar’s unique look readily identifies it, and I could smoke one any time of day or night RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | This is a cigar you could enjoy just about anywhere. The calming aftertaste will be with you for awhile. RECOMMENDED |
 | | CUBAN PAREJO Belicoso No. 1 | Country: Nic | Manufacturer: Tabacalera Perdomo | Size: 4 1/2 x 60 | Filler: Nic | Binder: Nic | Wrapper: Conn | | Panelist #1 | It was a pleasure to spend an hour with this big boy. Try it with your favorite full-bodied beverage. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | It didn’t meet expectations, but I’d still have it before dinner with a light rum or a smooth, blended Scotch. MILDLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | Despite some imperfections, I would smoke this occasionally. It actually went nicely with a Barq’s root beer. MILDLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | A good-looking smoke, great for the golf course. It’s not too strong, and it lasts about six holes. RECOMMENDED |
 | | SANCHO PANZA Belicoso | Country: Cuba | Manufacturer: Habanos SA | Size: 5 1/4 x 52 | Filler: Cuba | Binder: Cuba | Wrapper: Cuba | | Panelist #1 | This cigar made the perfect companion to my post-dinner snifter of Baker’s. Not for the casual smoker! RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | If I had to guess, I’d say there was young tobacco present. Some aging in the humi could be beneficial. MILDLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | Have this one late, preferably after a hearty barbecue meal. It’s aggressive, but it can be tamed. RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | Patience is a virtue. Stick with this one through the rough start, and it won’t let you down. I want more! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |
 | | ELOGIO Consul | Country: Nic | Manufacturer: Elogio Cigars | Size: 5 1/2 x 52 | Filler: Nic | Binder: Nic | Wrapper: Nic | | Panelist #1 | Flavors stayed consistent throughout the smoke, and across all samples. I’d definitely smoke it again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | If you like intense smokes, you’ll like it. Don’t smoke it without a strong coffee or similar palate cleanser. MILDLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | This complements a single malt like Bowmore very well. A cigar that doesn’t make you work too hard. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | 15 minutes later, I’m still weak-kneed. One of the rare cigars that actually gets better with each puff. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |

 | | DAVIDOFF LIMITED EDITION 2003 Panatela Extra | Country: DR | Manufacturer: Davidoff | Size: 6 1/4 x 40 | Filler: DR | Binder: DR | Wrapper: Ecu | | Panelist #1 | For such a thin ring gauge, this cigar was a complex, slow-burning treat. Pair it up with a Highland malt. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | The size offered a surprising amout of smoke, but pretty much what I expected in flavor complexity. MILDLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | This reminds me of some of my favorite Nicaraguans. A butt-kicker in a compact, beautiful package. RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | This left a pleasant tingling on my palate for an hour. A worthy smoke for that cognac you’ve been saving. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |
 | | BAHIA GOLD Maduro Churchill | Country: Nic | Manufacturer: Bahia Cigars | Size: 6 7/8 x 48 | Filler: DR | Binder: DR | Wrapper: Conn | | Panelist #1 | I smoked this big boy all the way down to the cap without even realizing it. I’d rank it with the best. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | From its appearance I expected more of a butt-kicker. Not very nuanced, but a very decent smoke. RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | This slow-burning cigar is ideal for sitting on the porch with a dram of single malt and a good novel. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | A serious smoke, and a keeper for anyone who considers himself a serious smoker. What exactly are these? HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |
 | | INDEPENDENCIA Belicoso | Country: DR | Manufacturer: La Aurora | Size: 6 1/2 x 52 | Filler: DR/Nic | Binder: Indo | Wrapper: Nic | | Panelist #1 | This is the best stick I’ve ever reviewed. Show me the spring, so I can drink deeply of more! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | If only all of my dates were like this. Just smooth and enjoyable. If the price is right, sign me up for a box. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | If you can make it through the early stiff puffing to get it going , some nice flavors await you in this one. MILDLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | A very pleasant hour was whiled away with this one. It would go well with coffee, or at any time of day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |
 | | CACIQUE MIAMI Robusto | Country: Nic | Manufacturer: Tabacalera Tropical | Size: 5 x 52 | Filler: Nic | Binder: Nic | Wrapper: Nic | | Panelist #1 | This good-looking brunette matches well with blended bourbon and coffee liqueur. It should age well, too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | Like Ms. Diaz, a lot of window dressing. Then again, fans of the Macanudo Cafe will like this. MILDLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | This one was hard to put down. Looks good and tastes the way a cigar should. Definitely a keeper. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | This cigar seems as close to Cuban as you can get without being from the island. Consistently enjoyable. RECOMMENDED |
 | | INDIAN TABAC VINTAGE 1992 Toro | Country: Hon | Manufacturer: Indian Tabac | Size: 6 1/2 x 50 | Filler: DR/Nic | Binder: Mex | Wrapper: Ecu | | Panelist #1 | This is a red-meat-style cigar. Its bold, robust flavor makes for a perfect dessert after a prime rib dinner. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | The cigar didn’t let me down, holding great construction and interesting flavor all the way to the nub. RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | This one doesn’t stay with your palate long, but it’s pretty good on the golf course with a beer. MILDLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | What a cigar! Have this with a bracing snifter of cognac or vintage port, and your evening is made! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |
 | | PERDOMO2 Rhombus | Country: Nic | Manufacturer: Tabacalera Perdomo | Size: 5 1/2 x 54 | Filler: Nic | Binder: Nic | Wrapper: Cam | | Panelist #1 | It starts weak but finishes strong! This cigar provided an excellent accompaniment to a Manhattan. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #2 | This cigar paired nicely with a pint of Harp after a meal. I’ll make this a “go-to” cigar if the price is right. RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #3 | Smooth enough for the afternoon, but ideally suited to after dinner, with a bracing small-batch bourbon. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED | | Panelist #4 | This is one to enjoy nice and slow. This bads boy reminds me of my favorite Hondurans. What is it? HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |
