Jennifer Tilley is not a bimbo, she just plays one on TV -- and on film and in the theater. Her portrayal of Olive, the Betty Boop carbon- copy in the Woody Allen movie Bullets Over Broadway, earned her a nod from the Academy, for Best Supporting Actress. In her newest movie, Bound, (slated for an early October release), she steps away from the bimbo mold to Violet, a silky, seductive, manipulative mobster mistress looking for a way out of her relationship with the abusive Caesar, (played by Joey Pantoliano). Looking to strike a blow to the Chicago's La Cosa Nostra, Violet teams up with her lesbian-lover Corky, (played by Gina Gershon), to lift the $2 million in cash stashed around Caesar's pad. To say the very least, Tilley's dance card has been full of late. In addition to Bound, she starred in last summer's House Arrest with Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Pollack; and the HBO movie Edie and Pen. Thouth her Academy nomination has garnered her with more starring roles, Tilley is happy to work on propjects where everyone isn't stepping over one another for more time in the limelight, and as she tries to strike a balance between making a living and doing work that's creatively interesting and fulfilling.
